Hoppers Crossing Fire Brigade were paged to support Fire Rescue Victoria and CFA (Country Fire Authority) appliances on scene at an out of control Grass & Scrub Fire on Boundary Road, Truganina this afternoon just before 12:30 PM.
FRV and CFA crews worked together to extinguish the fire and were able to bring the blaze under control just before 3 PM, with no injuries reported on scene.
A community advise message was issued for smoke in the area.
At the height of the incident, there were more than 25 firefighting appliances on scene, along with a number of additional support units.
Thank you to Victoria Police, Ambulance Victoria and Wyndham City Council who supported on scene.
A timely reminder for those living on the urban fringe to check your Bushfire Safety Plans and stay informed on fire risk days. Cities and towns near grasslands are still at risk of grass fires.
